Unified Valve Group is seeking a hardworking, motivated, driven Product Sales Manager, who thrives on being in the field, visiting clientele, ensuring customer service and generating new accounts. The Product Sales Manager is responsible for Edmonton, Alberta and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers ensuring that they are empowered and have the skill set and aptitude as well as the training and direction to be successful
  • Responsible for holding managers accountable to their job descriptions and responsibilities, including to their budget, profits, losses, margins, service delivery, resource planning, and adherence to the Quality and Safety Program
  • Maintain and develop client relationships
  • Achieve established objectives and goals
  • Maintenance of a marketing information system and client database as required
  • Preparation and implementation of marketing plans and budgets
  • Evaluate market trends in the industry, including prices, new technology and intelligence on the competition
  • Identify and evaluate potential sale opportunities
  • Responsible for setting out and implementing market strategy. Strategy to be approved by the General Manager
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, techniques, technologies through continuous professional development
  • Preparation of annual budget and monthly forecasts
  • Responsible for establishing and implementing a marketing and promotional budget
  • Responsible for arrangement and implementation of Company promotional events
  • Responsible for acquisition and distribution of Company promotional material and gifts
  • Arranges Company participation in ‘external’ events e.g. Golf Tournaments, Dinners etc.
  • Liaise with operations department to ensure client requirements are met
  • Review contract terms and conditions as required
  • Liaise with key clients frequently to obtain assessment of own services and drive business growth
  • Advise departments on strategic requirements and utilization of resources when required
  • Complete progress reports as needed
  • Manage assigned staff including conducting semi-annual reviews and performance evaluations
  • Establish & maintain vendor relationships, arrange vendor focused meetings with clientele/prospects within geographic sales territory.  This includes collaboration with current outside sales team and joint calls with our vendor representatives
  • Provide guidance and oversight to branches with resources planning including material, inventory, staffing, training, and time
  • Responsible for hiring high caliber, qualified individuals that are a good fit for the culture and foster accountability and innovation

Requirements

  • 5 years of strong industrial process service sales with experience in Oil & Gas and other industry sectors
  • Focus on service, sales and solutions – Previous experience selling new products and dealing with Alberta O&G Supply Chain is an asset
  • Mechanically Inclined, must have valve knowledge and experience
  • Ability and willingness to travel within Edmonton and surrounding area
  • Have strong Cold Calling skills
  • Proven and demonstrated ability to establish and foster strong trusting business relationships
  • Must have proven ability to manage own time
  • Must be self-driven, entrepreneurially motivated and goal-oriented
  • Exceptional communicator, presenter and customer service oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid computer skills and ability to quickly/effectively learn and adapt to new software or technology
  • Strong network and ability to coordinate meetings
